I’d like the family to know how much Angela meant to me, and how saddened I am to learn of her passing. I met her first when I was 8 when she auditioned me for violin classes at St Helen’s. Later she became my teacher and invited me to my first little orchestra (I remember we played The Blue Danube, and frankly I didn’t have a clue!) But it gave me the confidence to play in more orchestras. Later I was one of the children who formed the new Cathedral Youth Orchestra, and that was a joy as well as a wonderful educative experience. I loved her. She trusted me as a young orchestral player and in turn gave me much-needed confidence. I loved her as a person too, with her straight-talking kindness and merry, compassionate eyes. And how could I forget the way she played the piano. She was a fantastic lady who made my world a better place and “the” world a better place. May she rest in peace.
